The final act

Sarah Hender

There is no ordinary person and there is no ordinary life.  We all have stories to tell that can move or inspire others. Sometimes we don’t even know we do.  I like to find those stories, the ones that nobody knows are there.

I asked a writer recently about which of his books he liked writing the best.  “I don’t like writing” he said. Considering this author had made his life out of writing and was clearly good at it, I didn’t know what he meant – until I did.  Writing is not comfortable.  It is a heavy weight of responsibility to share someone’s story with others in a way that captures the essence of that person and these events that touched their lives.  Sometimes it is a wrestle with words to get that right.  The ultimate reward is a connection with you, the reader.
